Job description

The Recreation & Parks Department is currently recruiting applicants to fill a temporary/seasonal position up to 40 hours a week to assist in the day-to-day maintenance of Edinburgh USA Golf.

Pay rates:

  • Age 17, no driver's license: $14.91/hour
  • Age 17, with driver's license: $15.36/hour
  • Age 18, no driver's license: $15.91-$20.16/hour
  • Age 18+, with driver's license: $16.88-$21.53/hour

All Seasonal Recreation & Parks positions include:

  • Performing general cleaning and maintenance
  • Promoting harmonious relations with colleagues, departments, and the public
  • Performing and assisting with Recreation & Parks duties
  • Operating vehicles and small equipment (small equipment operation is limited for those under 17 or without a driver's license)

Specific duties at Edinburgh USA Golf include:

  • Operating weed whips, push mowers, riding mowers
  • Changing tee markers and pin placements
  • Cleaning restrooms
  • Raking bunkers, washing and parking golf carts
  • Filling divots, and other tasks assigned by supervisor

Education: High school graduate

Experience:

  • 17 years old (may operate small equipment only)
  • 18 years old or older

Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver's license required to operate vehicles

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently
  • Problem-solving skills according to policies
  • Courteous and professional communication
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse backgrounds
  • Customer service skills
  • Engagement in continuous improvement

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with small equipment, maintenance, cleaning, and working with diverse populations
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certifications (preferred)
  • Fluency in Spanish, Hmong, Russian, Somali, Laotian, or Vietnamese (preferred)

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to lift/move 10-50 pounds
  • Prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, climbing
  • Exposure to chemicals and outdoor weather conditions
