Description / Position Overview

Maintenance Worker- Old Colorado City SIMD (PT Maintenance Support) - (Seasonal Position)

About the Job: In this position you will maintain medians, rights-of-way, and parks in Old Colorado City.

Job Type: Seasonal

Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday 6 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Fridays 6:00 a.m. - 10:0 a.m.

Work Location: Old Colorado City

This is a seasonal (at-will) position with benefits limited to those required by applicable state and federal laws, which include Worker's Compensation, Medicare, Unemployment Insurance, and PERA (Public Employees' Retirement Association).

Approximate dates of employment will be late May - late November. Scheduled hours will vary based on department needs. Total hours worked will not exceed 1,500 annually.

As a Maintenance Worker, You Will

  • Trim weeds, mulch, prune, hedge, aerate, and seed turf and bed areas
  • Plant and water annuals, perennials, and shrubs
  • Pick up trash, paint, and remove graffiti
  • Maintain and repair irrigation systems

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:

  • Ability to safely operate vehicles and equipment such as trucks, string trimmers and push mowers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with irrigation systems and landscape/greenhouse maintenance

Additional Information

Physical Demands: The ability to stand, sit, stoop, walk, climb, bend, and lift up to 60 pounds occasionally is also required.

Environmental Conditions: This position requires working outside in all weather conditions and along high traffic areas.
