GEORGIA RECREATION AND PARK ASSOCIATION INC in Kentucky seeks a maintenance worker for parks and facilities. This role covers routine and heavy manual tasks and safe operation of various tools and equipment to care for county parks and recreational facilities.
You will perform grounds maintenance, landscaping, and equipment upkeep, with duties including trail and greenspace care, pond and dock maintenance, and occasional park renovations. Weekend/evening availability is required.
This position is an individual contributor engaged in maintenance, construction, and repair of the County’s public parks and recreation facilities. Duties include routine and heavy manual tasks, and the safe operation of various tools and equipment in a mission to care for the County’s public parks and facilities.
High school diploma or equivalent.
No experience is required. Previous experience is preferred.
Possession of a valid Georgia Driver’s License (Class C) and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects/tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The employee is moderately exposed to vibration. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
