Job summary

Legends Global is seeking a Maintenance Worker to perform plumbing, carpentry, painting and drywall repairs at our Long Beach venue. The role requires reading instructions, operating power tools, and providing basic mechanical maintenance daily.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and 2+ years of general maintenance experience; valid CA driver license and forklift/boom lift certs are preferred. Work includes irregular hours, nights, weekends, and outdoor conditions.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform plumbing, carpentry, painting and drywall repairs as needed.
• Must be able to read and follow labels and instructions; operate power/hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Conduct plumbing and carpentry repairs.
• Check facility doors and perform repairs.
• Provide basic mechanical and maintenance repairs.
• Perform paint and drywall repairs (patching, sanding, repainting).
• Troubleshoot maintenance issues and complete repairs.
• Maintain clean and orderly maintenance shop and store tools properly.
• Report equipment needs or low supplies to supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Conducts plumbing and carpentry repairs as necessary
• Checks facility doors and performs repairs as necessary
• Provides basic mechanical and maintenance repairs as necessary
• Ability to perform paint and dry wall repairs (Including patching, sanding, and repainting)
• Troubleshoots various maintenance problems around the facility and performs repairs as necessary
• Ensures that all job assignments are completed as instructed to 100% daily
• Responsible for completion of assigned job unless released by supervisor
• Responsible for keeping the maintenance shop clean and orderly, tools and equipment is stored properly
• Notifies Supervisor if equipment needs repair or supplies are low
• Follows facility dress code and grooming standards
• Follows established safety guidelines and maintains a safe working environment
• Attends to and conforms to the policies established by SMG and the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center
• Reports all damages to immediate supervisor, created or found, while performing daily responsibilities
• Provide daily and maintain the following personal hand tools – List to be provided by Supervisor & is subject to changes and or additions

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 2 or more years of general maintenance experience required
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Skills and Abilities:

• Good organization skills
• Good oral, written and interpersonal skills
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions labels
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to work with little supervision and always maintain professional demeanor
• Ability to work irregular hours, shifts that include nights, graveyard shift, weekends and holidays
• Able to operate power and hand tools
• Pass a (25 – 50 question) comprehensive test related to various maintenance tasks.
• * Desirable experience in maintenance for Food & Beverage equipment.

Computer Skills:

• Basic computer skills are required.
• Operate signage and printing equipment

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• Valid California Driver’s License
• Fork & Boom Lift Operator Certifications.
• Can be certified on site through Legends Global after hired.
