Note : The normal starting pay for this position is the minimum of the pay range listed above. A higher rate of pay may be considered, dependent on the qualifications and experience of the selected applicant and / or the City’s step placement policy.

JOB SUMMARY

This job is located in the Recreation, Health and Wellness Division of the Parks and Recreation Department within the City of Oklahoma City. This position is responsible for performing semi-skilled building maintenance and repair tasks involving the use of power tools and equipment, and the operation of light automotive equipment, such as light trucks or passenger vans. Typical duties include : inspecting, servicing, maintaining and / or performing repairs on City facilities and equipment; filling assigned work orders; and completing safety and work status reports, inspection sheets and other related reports and forms on a daily basis. This position may also act in a lead worker capacity over part-time crews. The necessary skills, knowledge, and ability and / or licenses and certifications to perform departmental specific tasks must be acquired prior to assuming the duties of the position. Possession of a valid driver license (Operator) is required. This job classification has been designated as a safety sensitive job classification.

Pay Method : City employees are required to receive pay electronically, either via direct deposit or pay card.

Background Investigation, Drug Testing, Physical Examination : Upon a conditional offer of employment / acceptance of position, the City of Oklahoma City will conduct a criminal history background check for external applicants.Applicants will be provided contact information for any third-party reporting agencies used to collect background information in connection with conditional offers of employment.
