Job Summary
The Maintenance Worker I - Utilities position involves routine tasks involved in the maintenance and repair of the infrastructure of the City's Stormwater, water, and sewer systems. The work requires regular contacts with Public Works employees, other City employees, contractors, and the public. Physical demands are significant, involving heavyweight materials, equipment, and machinery. Working conditions can be harsh due to exposure to dust, heat, fumes, cold, noise, vibration, moisture, confined spaces, or climbing structures like water towers. Work is directed and reviewed by supervisors, and shifts, standby duty, and overtime may be required.
Applicants must demonstrate appropriate training, experience, and licenses, including a high school diploma or equivalent, experience in construction and maintenance labor, and a valid state CDL with endorsements (Class A with Tanker endorsement required for Maintenance Workers and Traffic Maintenance Workers).
