Description
Performs intermediate manual and basic semiskilled work in the construction, maintenance, and repair of public facilities, buildings, grounds, streets, utilities, and related facilities. Work is performed under the immediate supervision of the assigned Crew Supervisor.
Essential Functions
Minimum Qualifications
Some knowledge of streets drainage, buildings, grounds, utilities, landscape areas, and related construction, maintenance, and repair procedures. Ability to operate equipment safely, follow oral instructions, perform manual labor under various weather conditions, and establish effective working relationships. Less than high school education with minimal experience in construction, maintenance, custodial, or grounds-keeping work, or equivalent.
Special Requirements
Valid driver's license in North Carolina. Ability to obtain a Class A commercial driver's license valid in North Carolina.
Physical Demands
Requires occasional exertion of up to 100 pounds, standing, walking, handling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, speaking, hearing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, repetitive motions, and visual inspections. Exposure to outdoor weather, chemicals, extreme temperatures, mechanical parts, and other hazards. Use of protective equipment may be required.
