An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Worker I to join their Public Works & Parks Maintenance divisions. Note: If you have applied and did not pass the Mechanical Aptitude Test within the last six months, there is no need to reapply, as applicants can only retest after that timeframe. If you have already taken and passed the mechanical aptitude test (within the last 6 months) and are currently on the eligibility list, you do not need to reapply. Each eligibility list remains valid for up to six months.
Salary scale shown is minimum pay rate prior to the 2% CDL premium, and the maximum pay rate including premium pay and highest longevity pay, applicable only after 20 years of service.
The staff hired into this position will be brought in at Step 1 of the 6-step scale, which is $5097.98 month (~$29.41/hour).
This position is represented by Teamsters Local Union No. 117, and the current Collective Bargaining Agreement is effective 1/1/23 - 12/31/25.

Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be invited to take an in-person assessment test (Mechanical Aptitude Test, 1.5 hours). Applicants must receive a passing score to be placed on the eligibility list for a screening interview with hiring managers. Applicants with a passing score may be invited to a formal interview and practical testing when there are open vacancies. The eligibility list established for this position is generally good for 6 months.
Our next round of mechanical aptitude testing will take place on April 18, 21, 28 & 30th. As additional testing dates are scheduled, this posting will be updated.
Employees are expected to perform all of the duties of the Maintenance Worker I class as assigned. The list below is not meant to be all inclusive, and the full job description can be viewed here. For CDL eligible positions: you must obtain a Class "A" CDL and tanker endorsement within one (1) year of employment as a condition of continued employment.
*If necessary for assigned work, an employee will be required to obtain and maintain a Public Pesticide Operator's license, DSHS Water Supply Certification, First Aid Certification, Flagging Certification, Forklift Certification and/or Defensive Driving Certification, or other required certification or license.
