Job summary

Elizabethtown Community Hospital (ECH) is seeking a Maintenance Worker I to perform daily rounds across the campus, inspect and repair items logged at each department. You will participate in day-to-day projects and assist facilities staff as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma, good mechanical knowledge, and the ability to follow work orders. NYS asbestos O&M certification is preferred, and candidate should work independently with limited supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Good mechanical knowledge; vocational school helpful.
• Ability to follow written instructions from work orders, constructing, installations, etc.
• Ability to safely use hand and some power tools.
• Ability to communicate well with managers, co-workers, hospital staff, patients and visitors.
• Conducts himself/herself as a self-directed professional, courteous attitude, works independently with minimal supervision, and strive for continuous quality improvement.
• NYS certification for Asbestos O&M preferred.

The Maintenance Worker I position requires an individual that is responsible for daily rounds throughout the complex noting and repairing all items logged at each department location. The individual also will be involved with other day to day operational projects and assist other facilities staff as assigned.
