Essential Functions
- Responds to resident request for HVAC malfunctions. Repairs all HVAC problems in a timely manner.
- Checks freon levels, repair leaks and charge to appropriate levels.
- Inspects condenser units for all electrical controls, fans, and compressors for proper operation. Repair and replace as necessary. Clean units when necessary.
- Inspects evaporator units for proper operation, all parts functioning properly.
- Handles emergencies immediately and appropriately.
- Performs other maintenance duties as assigned by Lead, Supervisor or Director.
- Renovates and maintains all apartment and common area HVAC equipment.
- Maintains all required records and information pertinent to work assignments, including EPA regulated information.
- Keeps work areas, carts, tools and equipment orderly, clean and safe.
- Works safely and participates in all training programs, as assigned.
- Attend all mandatory meetings.
- All other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Basic plumbing techniques;
- Applicable driving laws and regulations;
- Record keeping principles;
- Basic construction procedures;
- Safe work practices procedures, to include reading Material Safety Data Sheets;
- Customer service principles;
- Applicable computer programs and equipment.
- Performing basic repairs and preventative maintenance;
- Using equipment and tools typical in assigned area;
- Driving wheeled vehicles;
- Operating a variety of hand and power tools;
Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
Experience
- Have 2 years of related experience and possess basic mechanical skills/aptitude and ability to use basic tools or other applicable experience as deemed appropriate by Human Resources.
Certifications & Licenses
- Must have or be able to obtain upon hire a current Arizona Driving License
- Must have or be able to obtain upon hire a CPR/AED, First Aid Certification,

- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided and must worn or be used to mitigate any unpleasant conditions. It is the Apprentice's responsibility to ensure the PPE equipment is used properly when and if required.
