Brevard County is seeking an entry-level maintenance assistant for the UF/Brevard County Extension Services Off. The role involves maintaining and repairing county grounds, buildings and facilities, with a schedule Monday–Friday 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM and possible mornings/weekends.
No formal training required; experience using hand and power-operated equipment is preferred. A valid Florida driver’s license is required, and background checks per AO-5 will apply.

$17.52 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Central Area/Cocoa/UF/IFAS Brevard Extension Office. Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM and may include morning hours and weekends as needed. Performs entry level service work maintaining and making simple repairs to County grounds, buildings, and Extension Service facilities.
No formal training or experience required. Experience in the safe and efficient use of hand and power-operated equipment is preferred.
Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. The applicant will be disqualified from further consideration for the position if a Level 1 criminal background investigation, performed in accordance with Brevard County Administrative Order 5 (AO-5), discloses the applicant has disqualifying convictions (as defined in AO-5). In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster, which may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
