Job description

Environmental Specialist – Janitorial Position

Position Overview: Maintains all aspects of environmental and janitorial duties in a safe, efficient, and professional manner.

Duty Hours: 5:00 AM - 9:00 AM, Monday through Friday.

1. Ensures restrooms, common areas, entrances, and exits are clean and free from safety hazards.
2. Removes trash from the building as needed.
3. Performs mopping, vacuuming, sweeping, and dusting.
4. Cleans toilets, sinks, mirrors, windows as needed.
5. Performs other general cleaning duties as needed.
6. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license issued by the State of North Carolina.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with a team.
• Knowledge of environmental and cleaning procedures.
• Ability to prioritize work and manage time effectively.

Note: Applicants must meet the City criteria for an acceptable driving record.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to frequently stand, walk, and use hands to perform tasks.
• Ability to reach, perform elevated work, climb ladders, and maintain balance.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move more than 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Must pass a “Functional Prework Screen” conducted by a third-party specialist.

Work Environment:

• Primarily indoors with some outdoor duties.
• Use of PPE such as masks, goggles, or gloves when required.
