Job summary

A leading company in healthcare facility maintenance is seeking a Maintenance Technician for essential repairs and upkeep of hospital infrastructure. This role involves performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting various systems, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Candidates should possess a high school diploma and relevant experience, demonstrating strong skills in maintenance and repair tasks, including plumbing and electrical work.

Qualifications

  • One to three years of related experience in maintenance.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Valid Driver's License and Auto Insurance required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular preventative maintenance on hospital facility.
  • Repair plumbing, electrical items, and perform basic groundskeeping.
  • Maintain documentation required for safety compliance.

Skills

Position Summary:

  • Maintenance and repair of hospital facility including patient areas, common areas, offices, and exterior. Perform regular preventative maintenance and testing on equipment and vehicles to ensure safety for employees and patients. Abide by industry standards including OSHA, TJC, and Children’s Mercy Camber policies and procedures.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED.

Experience:

  • One to three years of related experience and/or training. Experience troubleshooting and maintaining electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.

Certification/Licensure:

  • At least 21 years old.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Valid Auto Insurance.

Skills:

  • Ability to read and understand building plans and manuals. Basic math skills. Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook email required.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Repair and replace plumbing (pipes, fixtures, etc.).
  • Repair minor electrical items.
  • Assemble furniture, shelving, and other items.
  • Hang artwork, shelving, whiteboards, etc.
  • Paint and repair walls and ceilings.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and vehicles.
  • Assist with emergency drills.
  • Maintain documentation required for OSHA, TJC, fire marshal, etc.
  • Basic groundskeeping, including snow and ice removal, minor pothole repairs.
  • On call for emergency repairs.
  • Model professional and courteous behavior for the children and adolescents in Camber’s care.
  • Practice conduct that displays respect for all KVC colleagues and community stakeholders regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, veteran status, or other characteristics.
  • Other duties may be assigned according to staff qualifications and program development.
