Job description

Join to apply for the Maintenance Worker 1 or 2 role at Pinellas County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller.

Pinellas County Government is hiring Maintenance 1 or 2 personnel responsible for labor tasks such as hand cleaning ditches, spot tree trimming, trash and debris removal. Additional duties include preparing vehicles with supplies each morning.

Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM

Responsibilities:
  • Follow work cycles for ditch cleaning, debris and trash pickup.
  • Complete work requests like tree trimming, weed eating, and debris removal promptly.
  • Locate work sites using maps or GPS.
  • Work outdoors most of the day, perform physical labor, and be exposed to weather and wildlife.
Qualifications:
  • Possess and maintain a valid Florida Commercial Driver’s License “B” within 1 year of hire, based on MVR evaluation.
  • Obtain a Temporary Traffic Control certification within 1 year.
  • Be available for various work schedules, including emergency situations like storms and hurricanes.
Minimum Requirements:
Maintenance 1:
  • Completion of 9th grade, or
  • 6 months of experience in labor, groundskeeping, or related trades, or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Maintenance 2:
  • 1 year of relevant experience, or
  • Equivalent education and training.
Desirable Skills:
  • Ability to operate small equipment like chainsaws.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of maintenance tools and methods.
  • Ability to recognize safety hazards and take precautions.
  • Good public interaction skills and visitor safety awareness.
  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor outdoors in adverse weather.
