Job summary

Swan Lake Nursing & Rehabilitation in Patchogue, NY is seeking a reliable Maintenance Worker to help preserve the facility's safety and comfort for residents.

On-call 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, you will troubleshoot emergencies and urgent repairs while assisting in maintaining hot water, electricity, and plumbing systems across the building. You will support the Director in inspections and upkeep, ensuring residents live in a well-maintained environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electricity, and heating and air-conditioning.
• Licensure or certification in any of these areas is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the facility's philosophy of care and strive to achieve its goals and objectives.
• On-call 7 days a week, 24 hours a day to troubleshoot emergencies and urgent repairs.
• Assist in maintaining and documenting hot water checks in residents' rooms, baths, showers, and general hot water sources.
• Ensure proper maintenance and running condition of all electricity and plumbing in the facility.
• Assist in maintaining and running condition of all equipment in the building.
• Assist the Director in observing periodic inspections and performing repairs outside the scope of housekeeping.

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team at Swan Lake Nursing & Rehabilitation in Patchogue, NY. As a key member of our support staff, you will assist in maintaining the efficient operation of our facility, ensuring the comfort and well-being of our residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electricity, and heating and air-conditioning

Job Requirements

• Physically and mentally capable of performing routine job duties
• Good problem-solving and trouble-shooting abilities
• Personable with residents, families, and staff in a professional and cooperative manner
• Compassion, tolerance, and understanding for the elderly and mentally ill
• Ability to lift, push, pull, move equipment, supplies, linens, etc. in excess of 50 pounds as required
