Job Summary

The Maintenance Worker performs preventive and corrective maintenance in the plant under management supervision.

Shift: Must be available for day and night shifts.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assist in the installation of new equipment.
• Support personnel on fabrication and construction projects.
• Follow preventative maintenance schedules.
• Perform machine repairs such as replacing motors, rebuilding gearboxes, welding piping, overhauling pumps, and replacing seals.
• Conduct daily greasing and oiling of equipment.
• Diagnose and replace equipment parts with minimal supervision.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Use personal protective equipment and adhere to safety rules.
• Attend safety meetings and participate in safety committees if required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience with rendering or similar industrial equipment.
• Experience in welding and piping.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Vocational school training preferred.
• Forklift operation experience preferred.
• Basic maintenance and equipment operation knowledge.
• Welding proficiency in MIG and Stick, including vertical and overhead welding.
• Ability to diagnose and repair control circuits and VFDs.
• Mechanical aptitude for repairing motors and other equipment.

Physical Demands:

• Frequently lift or move up to 100 lbs.
• Regularly walk, stand, climb, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
• Reach with hands and arms.
• Travel to other plants may be required.
• Work nights and weekends; on-call availability.

Work Environment:

Work in a rendering facility with wet, slippery floors and temperature extremes.
