Job Summary

The Maintenance Worker performs preventive and corrective maintenance in the plant under management supervision.

DAY SHIFT MON-FRI 7AM- 3:30pm some weekends required.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  1. Assists in the installation of new equipment.
  2. Assists with special fabrication and construction projects.
  3. Follows preventative maintenance schedules.
  4. Performs machine repair and installation, such as replacing motors, rebuilding gearboxes, running threaded piping, welding piping, overhauling pumps, replacing packing shaft seals on cookers and pumps, welding, and using a cutting torch.
  5. Diagnoses and repairs or replaces equipment parts with minimal supervision.
  6. Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area at all times.
  7. Uses assigned personal protective equipment and follows all safety rules and regulations.
  8. Attends safety meetings and may serve on the Safety Committee.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience operating a forklift.
  • Experience in welding, electrical, and mechanical work.

Qualifications

  • Vocational school training.
  • At least 2 years' experience with similar equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of general maintenance and equipment operations.
  • Welding proficiency in MIG and Stick, including vertical and overhead welding.
  • Proficiency in control power electric systems.
  • Mechanical aptitude for diagnosing and repairing motors and other equipment.
  • Good math skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Physical Demands

  • Frequently push, pull, move, or lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Regularly walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
  • Reach with hands and arms as needed.

Work Environment

This role is in a processing facility with potential exposure to wet or slippery floors and high or cold temperatures.
