Facility: The Hamptons Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing
Location: Southampton, NY
Shift: Full Time – Day Shift; Alternating Weekends
Salary: $27.00–$27.54 per hour
Union Position: 1199SEIU Greater New York

Job Summary

The Hamptons Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing is seeking a reliable and experienced Maintenance Worker to join our team. The Maintenance Worker will be responsible for maintaining the facility, equipment, grounds, and building systems to ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout the facility.
  • Complete maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Perform basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting tasks.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment and building systems.
  • Maintain safe, clean, and orderly facility grounds and common areas.
  • Assist with facility inspections and follow all applicable safety requirements.
  • Identify, address, and report safety hazards and maintenance concerns.
  • Work closely with Nursing, Housekeeping, and other departments to address facility needs.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance situations when needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance and repairs.
  • Follow all facility policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Requirements
  • At least 1 year of maintenance experience preferred.
  • Nursing home or healthcare facility maintenance experience preferred.
  • General knowledge of building maintenance and repair.
  • Basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and identify appropriate solutions.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position.
  • Flexible schedule with availability to work alternating weekends.
  • Ability to respond to emergency maintenance needs when required.
