Job summary

Westchester Community Health Center is hiring a full-time Maintenance Worker to maintain a clean, safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors at our Mount Vernon, NY health center. Responsibilities include cleaning, housekeeping, routine maintenance, and prompt response to incidents to ensure patient safety.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and some cleaning experience, with familiarity with cleaning products and basic machinery.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalence.
• Some experience required.
• Ability to use correct cleaning products in accordance with NY state law regulations.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with machinery/tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide a clean and safe environment for patients, employees and visitors.
• Perform cleaning, housekeeping and maintenance tasks throughout the health center.
• Inspect, clean, and restock public bathrooms periodically throughout the day.
• Clean offices, waiting areas, and other department areas fully and efficiently.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, wax, or buff floors as directed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients and employees.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as needed.
• Clean windows, glass doors, elevator doors, and all other points of contact daily.
• Respond to accidents and emergencies quickly to ensure patient safety.
• Perform all other related duties as assigned.

The Maintenance Worker is required to provide a clean and safe environment for health center patients, employees, and visitors while providing other services as required by the Health Center.

Performs cleaning, housekeeping and maintenance tasks and services throughout the health center.

Clean and sanitize shared facilities and common spaces.

Inspect, clean, and restock public bathrooms periodcially throughout the day on a daily basis.

Clean offices, waiting areas, and other department areas fully and efficiently.

Sweep, vacuum, mop, wax, or buff areas floors as directed.

Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients and employees.

Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment as needed.

Clean windows, glass doors, elevator doors, and all other points of contact daily using the right tools.

Respond to accidents and emergencies quickly to always ensure patient safety.

Perform all other related duties as assigned.
