• Safely operate tools and maintain workshop cleanliness.

• Report maintenance, equipment, and safety concerns to the Assistant Director of Facilities.

General Responsibilities

The Maintenance Worker reports to the Assistant Director of Facilities and is responsible for the general upkeep, repair, and safe operation of campus facilities. This position completes assigned work orders, performs preventive maintenance, and assists with campus operational needs.

Specific Responsibilities

• Performs general building maintenance and repairs, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, doors, and hardware
• Completes and documents assigned work orders through the school’s facilities work-order system
• Performs routine inspections and preventive maintenance of campus buildings, equipment, and systems
• Troubleshoots maintenance issues and reports repairs requiring an outside contractor
• Safely operates and maintains hand tools, power tools, ladders, and other maintenance equipment
• Maintains clean and orderly work areas and properly cares for school tools and materials
• Assists with campus event setups, tear-downs, and other Facilities projects as needed
• Reports maintenance, equipment, and safety concerns to the Assistant Director of Facilities
• Performs other duties as assigned

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. The position regularly requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing ladders and stairs, and lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds. Work may be performed indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and conditions.

This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week, 12-month position. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. This position reports directly to the Assistant Director of Facilities.
