Benewah Community Hospital in Saint Maries, Idaho is seeking a Full-Time Maintainer to perform installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of equipment and building systems. Duties include grounds maintenance, boiler and HVAC upkeep, plumbing, and safety checks.

Typical shift is Monday through Friday, with duties such as responding to work orders, coordinating with supervisors, and ensuring emergency power and oxygen supply readiness.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3 months related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Receives work orders or verbal instructions from supervisor.
  • Performs routine preventive maintenance to extend life and performance of boilers, roof, plumbing, floors, heating system, vacuum pumps, and roof fans.
  • Regularly checks sprinkler system and firefighting equipment.
  • Checks patient care equipment and furnishings (beds, chairs, rails, etc.).
  • Maintains grounds (lawns, parking lots, snow removal, sheds).
  • Maintains and monitors oxygen supply and ensures emergency power/water.
  • Purchases supplies using prescribed protocols and coordinates with contractors for repairs.
  • Maintains records of services performed and performs miscellaneous tasks as needed.

SHIFT: Full Time M-F

SALARY: Hourly Position, DOE

JOB SUMMARY:

Maintains and repairs equipment, physical structures of buildings, and maintains grounds by performing the following duties.

JOB DUTIES (include but are not limited to):

  • Receives written work orders or verbal instructions from supervisor.
  • Performs routine preventive maintenance to extend life and satisfactory performance of:
      • Boilers
      • Roof
      • Plumbing
      • Floors
      • Heating system
      • Vacuum pumps
      • Fans on roof
  • Routine checks of sprinkler system and firefighting equipment.
  • Routine checks of patient care equipment and furnishings, i.e.: beds, chairs, rails, etc.
  • Care of grounds:
    • Lawns
    • Parking lots
    • Snow removal
    • Shed and equipment therein
  • Maintain and monitor oxygen supply.
  • Assure emergency power / water.
  • Purchase necessary supplies to perform job using prescribed purchasing protocols.
  • Respond to requests for needed repairs or contract individual to provide services.
  • Routine maintenance and service of air conditioners, radiators, etc.
  • Maintenance of necessary records to document services performed.
  • Miscellaneous functions, i.e.: occasional painting, woodwork, exit lights, and responsibility for flag, etc.
  • Cuts grass and trims weeds on organization’s property.
  • Assists other departments with moving furniture and unloading and storing supplies.
  • Equal share in the call schedule as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
