Job summary

Peninsula Powder Coating is seeking a full-time Maintenance Worker to join our Baraga, Michigan team. You’ll handle general maintenance including carpentry, painting, electrical and plumbing tasks, and help keep facilities, equipment, and grounds in good condition.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years of maintenance experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to perform physical duties and work on ladders.

Qualifications

• 3+ years maintenance work experience preferred.
• Proficiency in carpentry and painting; basic welding, plumbing, electrical, and/or mechanical skills.
• HVAC experience is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair and maintain facilities including painting, plumbing, electrical work, heating and cooling systems.
• Maintain inventory of repair supplies and materials.
• Perform planned preventive maintenance tasks as scheduled.

The ideal person for this position is someone experienced with general maintenance (carpentry, welding, electrical and/or mechanical maintenance) and able to maintain equipment, buildings and grounds.

WHAT YOU WILL DO.

• Inspect, repair and maintain facilities including painting, plumbing, electrical repair (replace outlets, ballasts, fans, etc.), heating and cooling systems, grass cutting and trimming, snow removal, and minor construction jobs (cement work, general carpentry, general welding, etc.).
• Maintain inventory of repair supplies and materials.
• Perform maintenance and preventive maintenance duties as scheduled.
• Maintain effective and professional communication with staff.

WHAT WE OFFER.

• $22.00 – $24.00 per hour starting pay based on your experience.

SCHEDULE.This is full-time, Monday–Friday position generally working 7am – 3:30pm. Some schedule flexibility required for emergency situations.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.

• Preference given to candidates with at least 3 years’ maintenance work experience, including skills in general carpentry and painting, as well as basic welding, plumbing, electrical, and/or mechanical work. HVAC experience is a strong plus.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ideal candidates are highly organized, able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at once, and operate with urgency and attention to detail.
• We’re looking for someone proactive, safety-conscious, and resourceful when tackling maintenance challenges.
• This position involves physical labor, including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, working on ladders, navigating dusty or confined spaces, and performing tasks in a variety of outdoor conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain, humidity, snow, etc.).
