Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) is hiring a maintenance technician for the Hawaii Job Corps Center in Makawao, HI.

This full-time role covers general maintenance and repairs on equipment and facilities, with support for electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and HVAC tasks per directives.

Qualifications

• HSD or equivalent; technical training in maintenance repair.
• 2 years related maintenance experience required.
• A valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs on equipment and buildings.
• Assist with electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and HVAC tasks in compliance with directives.
• Repair or replace faulty lighting, outlets, thermostats, breakers, and fuses.
• Repair washers and dryers and coordinate contracted assistance when needed.
• Maintain and preserve flooring by scrubbing, stripping, waxing, and sealing.
• Perform minor construction and repair of structural woodwork.
• Install window shades or coverings and security locks.
• Supervise assigned students in the maintenance department.

Education

HSD or equivalent; technical training in maintenance repair

2 years related maintenance experience

What you will be doing

You’ll be responsible for accomplishing general maintenance and repairs on equipment and buildings, assisting with technical trades such as electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and HVAC systems in compliance with government and management directives.

Essential Functions

• Repair or replace faulty or damaged light fixtures, electrical outlets, thermostats, breakers and/or fuses.
• Repair washers and dryers as necessary, recommend contracted assistance when on-center repair is not possible.
• Maintain and preserve all flooring and/or converting by scrubbing, stripping, waxing, buffing and seeping.
• Perform maintenance and repair to structures and systems throughout the center.
• Perform minor construction and repair of structural woodwork.
• Install window shades or coverings and security locks.
• Supervise assigned students assigned to the maintenance department.

Education And Experience Requirements

• HSD or equivalent; technical training in maintenance repair required.
• 2 years related experience required.
• A valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.
