Job summary

AutoCamp Joshua Tree is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Worker. You will respond to property maintenance requests, perform repairs, and keep the property visually appealing and orderly for guests.

The role requires basic handyman skills, safe use of tools, and a customer-service mindset to support a premier outdoor hospitality experience at our Joshua Tree location.

Qualifications

• A working knowledge of basic handyman skills.
• Knowledgeable and skilled in the safe use and maintenance of hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment; able to operate such equipment.
• Ability to follow through on assigned tasks and projects.
• Ability to arrive for assigned shifts on time.
• Knowledgeable and experienced in using a diverse set of tools, appliances, and equipment.
• Able to communicate effectively and professionally, and handle difficult situations and people with diplomacy.
• Thoroughness and attention to detail
• Excellent and attentive customer service
• High school diploma or GED certificate.
• Prior experience in building or hotel maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Respond to property maintenance requests and perform basic repairs.
• Maintain aesthetic appeal and ensure the property looks its best.
• Walk the property to remove debris and keep it neat and tidy.
• Transfer matter and trash to dumpsters or storage areas; keep storage clean.
• Assist with unloading of work and delivery trucks.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of meeting/event space.
• Assist with site setup and plant maintenance.
• Assist with snow removal upkeep and clearing.
• Complete assigned tasks and routine services as requested.
• Practice safety in all tasks per OSHA guidelines.
• Operate safe work practices and chemical handling per MSDS.
• Attend monthly department and emergency training.
• Keep Front Desk/Housekeeping informed of work status.
• Provide high-quality service and uncompromising hospitality to Guests and Associates.
• Assist with special projects and other duties as needed.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Responsible for responding to property maintenance requests and performing basic repairs.
• Takes pride in the property. Aesthetic appeal and attention to detail are important, make sure the property looks its best.
• Walks about the property throughout the day to remove matter out of place, debris, and pet droppings to ensure the property is neat and tidy.
• Transfers matter out of place and trash to the dumpster or storage area as applicable, and helps to keep the storage areas clean.
• Assists with the unloading of work trucks and delivery trucks.
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of meeting/event space.
• Assists with site setup and management of plants and plant materials.
• Assists with snow removal upkeep and clearing.
• Completes assigned tasks and routine services as requested.
• Understand and practice safety in all work tasks and duties in adherence to Autocamp's standards, as well as relevant Federal, State, and Local codes. Ensures property is being operated in a safe and effective manner by all team members and contractors.
• Understand and carry out safe work practices in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines.
• Practice safe chemical handling as prescribed in Material Safety and Data Sheets (MSDS).
• Knows how to carry out hotel emergency procedures.
• Attend monthly Department and Emergency Response Training.
• Keep Front Desk and Housekeeping informed of accommodations that are being worked on so they can be put out of order as needed. Additionally, notify Front Desk and Housekeeping when work is complete.
• Provide high-quality service and uncompromising hospitality towards all customers and Associates; act and communicate that is friendly and accommodating with Guests, Clients, Associates, and Management.
• Assists with special projects.
• Perform any other duties as requested by Management.
