Hawai'i Association Of Independent Schools is seeking a facilities assistant to support the Facilities Director in repairing and maintaining the school building, fixtures, and grounds. The role covers electrical and plumbing tasks, building repairs, and operation of various power tools.
Ideal candidates have experience in construction/maintenance settings and can perform carpentry, drywall, and painting tasks, with preferred knowledge of AC equipment maintenance.
PRIMARY PURPOSE: Assist the Facilities Director with repair and maintenance of the school building, fixtures, and grounds.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS:
Ability to use table saw, miter saw, nail gun, compressor, grinder, reciprocating saws etc.
Ability to solder copper for plumbing, welding machine for metal work preferred
Ability to install drywall and other carpentry skills preferred
Ability to manage painting and wood finishing tasks
Knowledge of AC equipment and maintenance preferred
OTHER DUTIES/FUNCTIONS:
Ability to do groundskeeper / custodial work and other duties as assigned.
Experience : Previous work experience in a variety of construction and/or maintenance environments preferred.
