Community Partnership of Southeast Missouri (CPSEMO) is seeking a Part-Time PRN Maintenance Technician for Liberty Apartments in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. The role focuses on general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep to keep units and common areas safe and functional for residents.

Responsibilities include routine tasks, handling work orders, preparing vacated units, and assisting with grounds keeping. A valid Missouri driver's license is required, with previous maintenance experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year maintenance or related trade experience preferred.
• Valid Missouri driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
• HVAC or trade certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks including quarterly filter changes, yearly dry vent cleaning and gutter cleaning.
• Respond to maintenance requests from residents or staff in a timely and professional manner.
• Complete work orders, inspections, and documentation accurately and promptly.
• Prepare vacant units for new residents, including cleaning, painting, and minor repairs.
• Inspect properties regularly for safety hazards, maintenance issues, and needed repairs.
• Assist with grounds keeping duties such as snow removal, and general exterior upkeep.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and safe condition.
• Coordinate with property management and Housing Program Director to prioritize maintenance needs.
• Follow all safety protocols and comply with CPSEMO's maintenance and housing standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Part-Time PRN Maintenance Technician – Liberty Apartments

Location: Cape Girardeau, Missouri
Reports To: Housing Program Director
Work Schedule: Part-Time / PRN (as needed; flexible hours)
Compensation: $17-$18 per hour, based on experience

Position Overview

The Part-Time PRN Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of CPSEMO's Liberty Apartment properties. This position ensures that all units and common areas remain safe, functional, and well-maintained for residents.

The Maintenance Technician will assist with repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance on an as needed basis, providing critical support to CPSEMO's housing team to maintain high property standards and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

• Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of experience in building maintenance, property management, or a related trade preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: Valid Missouri driver's license and reliable transportation required. HVAC or trade certifications a plus.
• Knowledge/Skills:
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Good communication and time-management skills.

Work Environment

This position is part-time and PRN (as needed), primarily supporting Liberty Apartments in Cape Girardeau. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors and may involve exposure to dust, noise, and weather conditions. Some lifting (up to 50 lbs) and occasional evening or weekend availability may be required for emergencies.
