Bakersfield Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is seeking a Maintenance Worker to perform routine and preventive maintenance, repairs, and facility support to ensure a safe, functional hospital environment. This hourly, non-exempt role starts at $23.00 per hour with automatic merit increases based on annual evaluations.

The position requires a High School Diploma and 2+ years in maintenance, with hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• At least two years in maintenance, with one year in a hospital setting preferred.
• Current BLS-CPR certification required or obtained prior to start date.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance, repairs, and facility support services to ensure the hospital environment remains safe, functional, and compliant with healthcare regulatory standards. This position maintains building systems, equipment, and physical infrastructure to support patient care operations. The Maintenance Worker assists with general repairs, facility inspections, and response to maintenance requests while adhering to safety protocols, infection control practices, and hospital policies. The role supports a clearn, safe,, and well-maintained environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

The position is an hourly, non-exempt, overtime-eligible position with a wage starting at $23.00 for all new hires. Automatic merit increases will apply annually based on annual evaluations.

Minimum Work Experience

At least two (2) years experience as a maintenance professions, with (1) year in a hospital setting preferred. Combination of education and experience acceptable.
