Job summary

M&M Recycling in Locust Grove, GA is seeking an experienced Maintenance Welder/Fabricator to service a busy scrap metal facility. This role focuses on after-hours maintenance and repairs on a heavy-duty shredder and related equipment to maximize uptime.

You will weld structural and wear-plate components, repair conveyors and heavy steel structures, read mechanical drawings, and fabricate parts as needed. We value independence and strong mechanical aptitude for safety-critical work.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of industrial welding experience.
• Experience with MIG, Stick, and Flux-Core welding.
• Experience repairing heavy equipment such as crushers, shredders, or mining equipment.
• Ability to operate oxy-fuel torches, plasma cutters, and air arc gouging equipment.
• Ability to lift 75+ pounds and work in confined spaces and at heights.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural and wear-plate welding on shredder components.
• Repair conveyors, hoppers, chutes, and heavy steel structures.
• Replace liners, wear plates, shafts, and other worn components.
• Fabricate parts to minimize downtime.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and measurements.
• Inspect equipment for potential failures.
• Perform cutting, gouging, grinding, and fabrication work.
• Follow safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Available for emergency breakdown repairs after hours and on weekends.

M&M Recycling is seeking an experienced Maintenance Welder/Fabricator to join our team at a busy scrap metal recycling facility. This position is responsible for performing after-hours maintenance and repairs on a heavy-duty metal shredder and supporting equipment to ensure maximum uptime and reliability. This is not a production welding job. We are looking for someone who is mechanically inclined, can work independently, and has experience repairing heavy industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural and wear-plate welding on shredder components.
• Repair conveyors, hoppers, chutes, and heavy steel structures.
• Replace liners, wear plates, shafts, and other worn components.
• Fabricate parts as needed to minimize downtime.
