Job summary

Oldcastle Infrastructure in Texas seeks a maintenance mechanic to perform a wide range of duties in an industrial manufacturing environment, ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently by completing preventative maintenance, reading manuals, and troubleshooting malfunctions.

You will service automation systems, electrical and hydraulic components, install and calibrate PLCs, document tasks in CMMS, and collaborate with production teams while following safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education preferred
  • Completion of apprenticeship program in maintenance millwrighting
  • Strong technical skills in automation, electrical systems, mechanical components and hydraulic systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues with machinery and equipment
  • Knowledge of safety protocols including lockout/tagout and arc flash safety
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with automation systems, electrical components, mechanical equipment, and hydraulic systems
  • Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems using knowledge of automation, electrical, mechanical and hydraulic principles
  • Install, configure, and calibrate automation systems including PLCs, sensors, actuators, and other control devices
  • Conduct inspections and tests to identify potential problems and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with production personnel and maintenance team to address issues promptly
  • Adhere to safety protocols including lockout/tagout and arc flash safety
  • Document maintenance activities using CMMS or other record-keeping tools
  • Stay updated with advancements in automation technology and training
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and efficiency

Job Summary

The ideal candidate in this role will perform a wide range of duties in an industrial manufacturing environment. This maintenance mechanic will be responsible for ensuring all equipment is operating safely and efficiently by completing preventative maintenance requirements, following diagrams, reading operations manuals and troubleshooting malfunctions.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with automation systems, electrical components, mechanical equipment, and hydraulic systems
  • Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems, utilizing knowledge of automation, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic principles
  • Install, configure, and calibrate automation systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors, actuators, and other control devices
  • Conduct inspections and tests on machinery and equipment to identify potential problems and implement corrective actions proactively
  • Collaborate with production personnel and other maintenance team members to address maintenance issues promptly and efficiently
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures, including lockout/tagout, arc flash safety, and other relevant safety measures, to ensure a safe working environment
  • Document maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks, using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or other record-keeping tools
  • Stay updated with advancements in automation technology, electrical systems, mechanical engineering, and hydraulic systems through ongoing training and professional development
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, efficiency, and performance
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in industrial maintenance, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field preferred
  • Completion of apprenticeship program or equivalent training in maintenance millwrighting
  • Strong technical skills in automation systems, electrical systems, mechanical components, and hydraulic systems
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with machinery and equipment
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures, including lockout/tagout, arc flash safety, and other relevant safety measures
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
