Martin Marietta is seeking a Maintenance Welder in Auburn, AL to repair and maintain plant equipment, including conveyors, gearboxes and mobile equipment. The role requires safety-minded, dependable individuals and includes 6:00 am–4:00 pm hours with overtime on weekends as necessary.

The position covers hands-on welding and fabrication tasks with a focus on preventative maintenance and equipment reliability. A High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of welding/maintenance experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain plant equipment, often performing out-of-position welding.
• Maximize equipment performance by completing timely repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Fabricate and erect processing equipment and perform repairs on mobile equipment.
• Complete daily pre- and post-inspection of work area.
• Operate other equipment (loaders, haul trucks) safely as needed.

A Typical Day For A(n) Maintenance Welder May Include:

• Troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining all plant equipment often in out of position welding
• Maximizing performance of equipment by performing repairs and ensuring preventative maintenance is completed on a timely basis
• Performing fabrication, erection of processing equipment and repairs to processing equipment and mobile equipment
• Completing daily pre and post inspection of working area
• Operating other equipment such as loaders and haul trucks in a safe manner as needed
• Aiding in the training of co-workers as needed
• Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor

You May Be a Good Fit If You:

• Possess a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities associated with this position
• Have one (1) year of experience in welding and maintenance
