Job summary

Performance Food Group (New) is hiring an Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance Technician for our Los Angeles area warehouses. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, repairs, and safety compliance to keep facilities running smoothly.

The position supports production by diagnosing issues, reading blueprints, and coordinating with teams to minimize downtime. Work hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, with weekday-only schedule and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of maintenance and repair experience.
• Background in electrical/mechanical equipment preferred.
• Ability to pass post-offer drug test and background check.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance on all equipment and troubleshoots/repairs trailers, restraint devices, dock leveling ramps and dock doors.
• Read and interpret blueprints and equipment manuals.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine corrective actions using manuals and parts catalogs as needed.
• Collaborate with production staff and management to minimize downtime and maximize production efficiency.
• Observe equipment in operation to locate faults and develop action plans to prevent recurrence.
• Investigate electrical and mechanical failures and implement corrective measures to reduce repeats.
• Use CMMS to document work orders, generate parts requests, and log hours.

Position Purpose:

The Electrical Mechanical Maintenance Technician keeps our associates safe by maintaining all equipment inside the warehouses/buildings and ensuring it meets industry standards and operates efficiently according to its specific tasks. The Electrical Mechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairs, adjustments, and ongoing maintenance of facilities. Performs general electrical and/or repairs of and various equipment on company premises. Conduct periodic inspections to determine maintenance work required. Maintains all equipment necessary to perform work.

Job Description:

• Performs preventative maintenance on all equipment and troubleshoot/repair Trailers, Restraint Devices, Dock leveling ramps, Dock Doors.
• Read and interpret blueprints and equipment manuals.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them- checking blueprints, repair manuals- or parts catalogs- as necessary.
• Work directly with production associates and management to problem-solve and correct production issues that will ensure maximum production efficiencies.
• Observes mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of trouble.
• Investigates electrical and mechanical equipment failures and develops action plans to eliminate repetitive failures.
• Using the M-pulse Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) -Initiates purchase order for parts and machines and creates and documents hours worked on applicable work orders.
• Weld- perform sheet metal work and employ basic shop floor skills (lathe- drill press grinder- and other metalworking tools).I
• Install- move- and relocate machinery/equipment according to blueprints and other drawings.
• Adhere to all safety and environmental policies- procedures and compliance programs.
• Work toward achieving an injury free environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Preferred qualifications:

• Associate degree in areas Electrical Mechanical Diagnostics, Service and/or Repair.
• 2+years preferred experience of electrical- mechanical- and hydraulic equipment i.e.: control panels- PLC's- conveyor shaft- motor and bearing replacement- etc. in a warehouse environment
