Job summary

Seaside Vacation Homes is seeking a Property Maintenance Technician to care for about 100 vacation homes and condos from Gearhart to Cannon Beach, mainly in Seaside. The role focuses on professional home care, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, inspections, and light repairs.

You will diagnose problems, perform repairs within your skill set, and know when to refer to a specialist, using basic tools and a laptop to document work.

Qualifications

• Background in property/home maintenance or handyman work preferred.
• Experience with basic plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, carpentry is valued.
• Comfort documenting work and using a laptop/mobile device.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and perform light repairs across vacation homes.
• Inspect properties and conduct preventative maintenance.
• Diagnose issues and determine when to involve specialists.
• Document completed work accurately in the system.

Maintenance Tech, Handyman or Trades Experience?

If your background includes property maintenance, handyman work, apartment maintenance, facilities maintenance, construction, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, inspection, or general home repair, we'd like to talk.

Seaside Vacation Homes is hiring a Property Maintenance Technician to help care for approximately 100 vacation homes and condos between Gearhart and Cannon Beach, with the majority in Seaside.

This isn't construction. Think professional home care, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, inspections, and light repairs across well-kept vacation properties.

Like Figuring Out Why Something Isn't Working?

That's a big part of this job.

One work order might involve a leaking faucet. The next could be a sticking door, damaged drywall, electrical troubleshooting, hardware replacement, paint touch-up, or figuring out why an appliance isn't working correctly.

Your job is to diagnose the problem, make a quality repair when it's within your skill set, and recognize when it should be referred to a specialist.

Typical work includes:

• Troubleshooting and light home repairs
• Basic plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, and carpentry
• Property inspections and preventative maintenance
• Diagnosing problems before replacing parts
• Identifying work requiring a specialized contractor
• Documenting completed work accurately on a laptop

Getting it right matters more than pretending you know everything.

Know Where Your Tools Are?

If you keep your tools organized, put things back where they belong, and believe a repair should look finished-not just functional-you'll probably fit in well here.

We provide company vehicles and tools while you're working, along with an experienced property-management team that has your back.

You'll work independently, but you won't be left on an island.

Experience That Translates Well

Professional maintenance or home-care experience is preferred.

We're interested in people with backgrounds in handyman services, property or apartment maintenance, construction, contracting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, flooring, inspection, facilities maintenance, or other skilled trades.

You should already be comfortable using common tools such as a drill, multimeter, drywall tools, and basic hand and power tools.

You don't need to know everything. You do need to enjoy figuring things out and doing the work correctly.

Requirements:

• Pot is a no go = not at work or outside for us.
• Clean Driving Record
• Must have established residence on North Coast or Transition Plan
• You will need a reliable car or truck to get to work / valid DL and clean driving record. / Company Vehicles provided on the job but we need to know you will not be walking in the rain come winter
• MUST be able to have basic computer, internet and typing skills (advanced skills is a "+" but not necessary) = Scheduling & documenting the work our maintenance orders happen on laptop computers onsite billable to the job so if you are a slow typer or struggle with computers, this may be difficult.
