Job summary

Life Flight Network is seeking a Maintenance Trainer to plan, facilitate, and design maintenance training, including improving training issues related to FAR 135 operations. The role requires A&P certification and significant rotorcraft maintenance experience, with travel across LFN’s service area and potential overnight stays.

The candidate will develop curricula, schedule sessions, and administer exams, ensuring training aligns with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in aviation management, maintenance or technology or related field.
  • Five years as Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic required.
  • A&P Certification required.
  • Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred.
  • Three years of FAR 135 turbine rotorcraft maintenance experience required.
  • Maintenance on AW 119 and PC12 preferred.
  • Ramco Software experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret training requirements.
  • Travel with valid driver’s license; overnight travel may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs maintenance training duties and participates in related activities.
  • Determines training objectives for maintenance programs.
  • Develops maintenance curriculums and supporting training documents.
  • Identifies manufacturer training needs based on operations and regulatory requirements.
  • Schedules training including manufacturers and recurrent sessions.
  • Creates training content aligned with GOM, GMM and Policy & Procedures Manual.
  • Administers written and practical exams and writes performance reports.
  • Performs other functions related to training as requested by the Maintenance Quality/Training Manager.
  • Conducts orientation sessions for new trainees.
  • Creates testing and evaluation processes for trainees.

Responsibilities

The Maintenance Trainer will be responsible for planning, facilitating, and designing maintenance training. In addition to improving upon training-related issues related to LFN’s FAR 135 Operation.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in aviation management, Maintenance or Technology or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • Five years as Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic required
  • Airframe and Powerplant Certification required
  • Inspection Authorization Certification preferred
  • Three years of FAR 135 turbine rotorcraft maintenance experience required
  • Maintenance experience on AW 119 desirable
  • Maintenance experience on PC12 preferred
  • Maintenance on Bell 407, Bell 429 preferred
  • Ramco Software experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interpret technical training requirements
  • Superior customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization
  • Able to take initiative, creating, implementing, and improving procedures
  • Travel by personal or company vehicle throughout LFN’s service area is required. Some travel will require overnight stays. Must possess a valid Driver’s license and automobile in good repair. Must provide proof of auto insurance and meet Driver’s Policy requirements
General Accountabilities
  • Performs, participates in all duties related to maintenance training
  • Determines training objectives
  • Develops maintenance-related curriculums to include all supporting training documents and aids
  • Determines requirements for manufacturer maintenance training needs based on operational and regulatory requirements
  • Schedules all training including manufacturers and recurrent training
  • Develops training content to ensure it is aligned with the company requirements according to the GOM, GMM and/or Policy & Procedures Manual
  • Administers written and practical exams and writes performance reports to evaluate trainees’ performance
  • Performs other functions as related to training as requested by the Maintenance Quality / Training Manager
  • Conducts orientation sessions
  • Creates testing and evaluation processes
