Job description

Life Flight Network is a not-for-profit air ambulance provider.

Position Overview

The Hangar Mechanic provides onsite maintenance support for Life Flight Network aircraft, managing inventory, scheduling maintenance, and maintaining ground support equipment. The role includes aviation maintenance and compliance with LFN’s FAA Part 135 air carrier certificate.

Qualifications
  • Completion of two years of an Aviation Science trade or vocational school, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three years as an Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic.
  • Airframe and Powerplant Certification.
  • Inspection Authorization Certification (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Three years of FAR 135 turbine rotorcraft maintenance experience (preferred).
  • Three years’ experience working for an EMS helicopter program (preferred).
  • Maintenance experience on Bell 407 (preferred).
  • Maintenance experience on Bell 429 (desirable).
  • Maintenance experience on PC12 (desirable).
  • Maintenance experience on EC135 (desirable).
  • Sheet metal/composites experience (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Analytical abilities sufficient to handle complex technical and administrative issues.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Strong work ethic with a team-oriented approach.
  • Must pass a background check and pre-employment DOT drug test.
  • Ability to work overtime, evenings, and weekends as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Superior customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to take initiative to create, implement, and improve procedures.
  • Travel by personal or company vehicle throughout LFN’s service area, including overnight stays.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and automobile in good repair, with proof of auto insurance meeting driver’s policy requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Inspect and repair aircraft parts, components, and systems.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft, aircraft systems, and parts for base operations.
  • Inspect completed work, aircraft systems, and parts based on aircraft schedule.
  • Update and maintain maintenance manuals, service bulletins, parts books, regulatory updates, and other technical directives.
  • Coordinate ordering, shipping, receiving of parts, supplies, tools, and warranty claims.
  • Clean and maintain interior and exterior of aircraft.
  • Coordinate aircraft maintenance schedules with assistance from the Lead Aircraft Mechanic.
  • Maintain upkeep of work area, materials, and tools.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation related to work activities in accordance with regulations and company policy.
  • Ensure all maintenance is accomplished and documented correctly.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot technical/inspection issues, providing guidance and resolution of problems.
  • Apply mathematical and analytical skills to duties.
  • Participate in continuous quality management to support LFN goals.
  • Assist with maintenance at LFN-operated bases as needed.
  • Maintain the hangar and shop area, ensuring it is clean and orderly.
  • Assist in aircraft reconfigurations and support the Maintenance Shop Manager as needed.
Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to LFN safety and risk management culture as outlined in the Safety and Risk Management Agreement, SMS, and related policies.
  • Preserve safety and risk management culture and rules.
  • Report all concerns related to safety and risk management immediately, working with the Director of Safety and Risk Management, Director of Quality Management, and others as needed.
  • Be knowledgeable regarding all safety and risk management policies and procedures; act as an agent for communicating safety and risk management information.
Working Hours

Monday - Thursday 10-hour shifts.
