EMI Services is hiring a Maintenance Trade Helper Plumber (MTH-P). The role involves assisting skilled plumbing maintenance workers by performing tasks such as supplying materials and tools, cleaning work areas, assisting journeymen, and performing other unskilled tasks as directed.
Salary: $19.68/hr plus $9.75 fringe benefits for insurance and 401k.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform basic repairs and maintain plumbing fixtures under supervision, including replacing washers, mending pipes, and unclogging drains.
- Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes made of various materials under supervision.
- Join pipes using flanges, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulks under supervision.
- Bend pipes to required angles using pipe-bending tools under supervision.
- Test pipe systems for leaks by filling with water or air and reading pressure gauges.
- Install and repair plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, water heaters, and garbage disposals under supervision.
- Provide groundskeeping services like landscaping and debris removal.
- Perform general cleaning of buildings or properties.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Knowledge of plumbing methods, materials, tools, and safety codes in commercial/industrial settings.
- Understanding of building structural elements and maintenance practices.
- Ability to follow verbal instructions and adhere to policies.
- Adaptability, flexibility, and good task prioritization.
- Workplace safety practices, including proper PPE use.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of related experience or vocational training.
- Valid driver's license and compliance with REAL ID Act or willingness to obtain one.
- Pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
- Dependable attendance, with availability for overtime, nights, and weekends.
- U.S. citizenship for access to military installations.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- Use of hands, reaching, talking, walking, and other physical activities.
- Prolonged sitting, bending, squatting, standing, twisting, or stooping.
- Climbing ladders and entering confined spaces.
- Work in various indoor and outdoor environments, potentially in extreme temperatures.
