Mysmarthire is seeking a Tennessee school maintenance worker to keep K-4 sites safe, clean, and fully operational for students and staff.

You will perform building repairs, grounds upkeep, and preventative maintenance to support a productive learning environment. A High School Diploma or GED is required, plus 3+ years in maintenance and a Tennessee driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Education: A High School Diploma or GED is typically required.
• Experience: 3+ years in general maintenance or a related trade.
• Licensing: A Tennessee Driver's License is required to operate district vehicles.
• Physical: Must lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform manual labor in various weather conditions.

Tennessee public school maintenance workers for grades K-4 are responsible for ensuring school buildings and grounds are safe, clean, and fully operational for students and staff. They perform a wide range of tasks, from routine cleaning to complex mechanical repairs.

Core Responsibilities

• Building Repairs: Perform minor electrical, plumbing, and HVAC repairs, such as fixing leaks, replacing light bulbs, and clearing clogged drains.
• Grounds Upkeep: Maintain outdoor areas by mowing lawns, trimming trees, and removing debris to ensure safe play areas.
• Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of facility systems-like fire alarms and heating units-to identify and fix issues before they become emergencies.
• Facility Setup: Assemble furniture, install classroom equipment (e.g., ceiling tiles or whiteboards), and set up spaces for school events or meetings.
• Custodial Support: Assist with cleaning tasks, including floor maintenance, dusting, and trash removal to uphold health standards.
• Documentation: Keep detailed logs of repairs, work orders, and inventory for materials and parts
