Job summary

IAP World Services, an Intrepid Global Solutions company, is seeking a General Maintenance Technician to support Defense, Intelligence, and National Security missions in Virginia. The role involves unskilled and semi-skilled maintenance, repairs, and minor construction to meet project standards.

Key duties include preventative maintenance of building systems, minor repairs to plumbing and electrical, and maintaining safety and recordkeeping.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least 5 years of general work experience in trades, labor, or custodial roles.
• Familiarity with basic maintenance tools, safety procedures, and basic recordkeeping.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance for building systems including floors, walls, finishes and hardware, alarm hardware, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Repair building structures, systems and components; perform minor repairs to plumbing, low/line voltage electrical systems, door hardware, fire and life safety systems, sprinklers; assist in inspections.
• Assist with maintenance of induction, air handling, and refrigeration units; service and inspect related equipment.
• Maintain and install waste, vent, and domestic water distribution systems; may weld or fabricate tasks.
• Maintain recordkeeping related to preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Have working knowledge of materials, systems and code requirements for facility maintenance.
• Understand and adhere to all safety procedures of the company and project.
