Job summary

WebstaurantStore is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance, repair and upkeep of the warehouse and material handling equipment, including conveyors and forklifts. You will coordinate with external vendors and track maintenance costs.

We value safe work practices, clear communication, and reliability; the role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year in a distribution environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of maintenance experience in a distribution environment.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Forklift certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the repair of warehouse equipment including conveyors and forklifts, and upkeep of racking, dock doors and levelers.
  • Communicate with outside vendors regarding warranty issues or necessary repairs beyond technician certification.
  • Ensure batteries are watered and maintained per manufacturer intervals.
  • Provide support on maintenance projects, operational improvements, and scheduled preventative maintenance.
  • Promote yard efficiency and upkeep of pallets/skids.
  • Operate equipment including forklifts and floor scrubbers.
  • Report forklift issues to leadership promptly to maximize uptime and safety.
  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment and follow safety protocols (LOTO, PPE).
  • Maintain a log of preventative and corrective maintenance using internal systems.
  • Make recommendations for repair, rebuild, or replacement of components.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the preventative maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the warehouse building and material handling equipment, including conveyor belts, forklift equipment, and racking. This position coordinates repairs & services with external vendors and supports overall operational improvements. Additionally, this role maintains a clean work environment, communicates equipment status to management, and tracks maintenance costs efficiently.

  • Assist in the repair of warehouse equipment, such conveyor belts and forklifts, as well as the periodic movement, upkeep, and replacement of racking,dock doors and levelers.
  • Communicate with outside vendors regarding warranty issues or necessary repairs that fall outside the certification level of the technician
  • Ensure that all equipment batteries are watered and maintained per manufacturer recommended maintenance intervals
  • Deliver support to a variety of maintenance projects, operational improvements, and scheduled preventative maintenance on assets and equipment
  • Promote the efficiency of the warehouse yard, including the upkeep and disposal of pallets / skids
  • Operate various pieces of equipment, including forklifts and floor scrubbers
  • Report any forklift issues to leadership promptly to ensure issue resolution, maximize uptime, and ensure a safe work environment
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, abiding by all safety protocol such as LOTO, wearing PPE etc.
  • Maintain a log of all preventative and corrective maintenance using our internal systems
  • Make recommendations for repair, rebuild, and replace of key components and equipment as needed
  • Meet all expected performance standards regarding efficiency, accuracy and quality of work
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following all safety guidelines and reporting any hazards to the appropriate leadership.
  • Work closely with team members and leadership to meet daily, weekly, and monthly departmental goals
  • Abide by all company and warehouse policies
  • Flex into other positions and departments and undertake additional duties as necessary to support the overall operation
Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 12 hours/day.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
  • Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
  • Requires the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 75lbs.
Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a distribution environment; maintenance experience and forklift certification preferred but not required
  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
