Job summary

Dakotaland Manufacturing is seeking a Weekend Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment and plant facilities. The role emphasizes problem solving, safety, and proactive maintenance to keep production moving.

The ideal candidate has experience with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems, can work independently, and is comfortable using computers and email for maintenance records.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; apprenticeship preferred.
  • Craft apprenticeship or equivalent experience in maintenance desired.
  • Associate degree in mechanical/electrical/industrial maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment and plant facilities.
  • Respond to emergency and unscheduled equipment repairs during production.
  • Complete scheduled maintenance and machine-service repairs.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on production machines, equipment, and facility systems.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and work orders.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, electrical meters, and material-handling equipment safely.
  • Enter, track, and maintain accurate electronic records for maintenance and repair activities.
  • Use the company’s CMMS platform and email to manage work orders and communicate updates.
  • Support general facility cleaning, floor cleaning, and 5S projects to help maintain a pristine workplace.
  • Follow all safety requirements and maintain clean, organized work areas.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, safety, and overall plant performance.

Weekend Maintenance Technician

Pay: $23–$35 per hour, depending on experience

Build, Repair, Improve—and Keep Production Moving

Dakotaland Manufacturing is looking for a skilled, dependable Maintenance Technician who enjoys solving problems, working with their hands, and keeping equipment operating at its best.

This is a high-impact role for someone who can troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, respond quickly to equipment needs, and take pride in maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient manufacturing environment. Your work will directly support production performance and help Dakotaland Manufacturing achieve its business goals.

Flexible Weekend Schedule

Choose the schedule that works best for you:

  • Thursday–Sunday: Four 10-hour shifts
  • Friday–Sunday: Three 12-hour shifts—work 36 hours and get paid for 40
What You’ll Do
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment and plant facilities.

What You Bring
Education and Training
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a craft apprenticeship or an equivalent combination of education and production-maintenance experience preferred.
  • Associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred.
Experience and Skills
  • One to three years of maintenance experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electromechanical systems.
  • Experience working with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems.
  • Experience with carpentry, plumbing, or facility maintenance is a plus.
  • Ability to follow repair procedures, work orders, maintenance documentation, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience using a computerized maintenance management system is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize urgent repairs, and make sound decisions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to completing work safely and correctly.
  • Dependable attendance and the ability to support weekend production operations.

Work Environment

This position works primarily in a manufacturing and production environment. The noise level is generally moderate but may vary depending on the equipment and work area. Employees may be exposed to moving machinery, production activity, tools, oils, dust, temperature changes, and other conditions commonly found in an industrial facility.
