Job summary

Dogwood Terrace by Barclay House in Richmond, VA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance, upkeep the property, and document all maintenance activities. You will assist new residents with move-in tasks and ensure safety and accessibility for residents and guests.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, OSHA knowledge, construction experience, and a valid driver’s license. This is an on-site position supporting senior living operations and facility management.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of OSHA compliance and laws.
• Construction experience coordinating building repairs.
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Successfully follows a preventative maintenance program set forth by the Director of Facility Management, including paint-touch up, grounds and building tour readiness, lights functioning, gutters clear, pathways clear, trash removed.
• Practices excellent time management and completes tasks within company time frames.
• Keeps building and grounds clean, immaculate and appealing to residents, guests, referral sources and prospects.
• Provides accurate documentation for maintenance records on all systems and equipment (fire sprinkler, extinguishers, monitoring, kitchen hood cleaning, elevator inspections, boiler permit, nurse call, generator, HVAC/PTAC, auto maintenance).
• Assists new residents and family members with move-in tasks during admissions and discharges.

Primary Responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician

• Successfully follows a preventative maintenance program set forth by the Director of Facility Management, which including paint-touch up, grounds and building tour readiness, lights are working, gutters are free and clear of debris, pathways are clear, trash and debris are removed from the property.
• Practices excellent time management skills and completes tasks within company time frames.
• Ensures that building and grounds are clean, immaculate and appealing to residents, guests, referral sources and prospects.
• Provide accurate documentation as it applies to maintenance records on all systems and equipment, including but not limited to the fire sprinkler system, fire extinguishers, fire monitoring system, kitchen hood cleaning, elevator inspections, boiler permit, nurse call system, emergency back-up generator, automobile maintenance, HVAC and PTAC service.
• Assists new residents and family members with move-in tasks during admissions and discharges.
