Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support a large healthcare campus in Temple, TX, including a hospital, clinics and medical office buildings. The role covers preventive maintenance, repairs across mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems, and strict adherence to safety and building codes.

The position starts on a first shift 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday–Friday for training, then moves to a stable first shift 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Wednesday–Sunday.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 1–2 years in facilities maintenance.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and to climb stairs/ladders.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, and Outlook.

As a CBRE Maintenance Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the continuous operation and pristine condition of a diverse campus of healthcare facilities, including a hospital, multiple clinics and medical office buildings in Temple, TX.

As a CBRE Maintenance Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the continuous operation and pristine condition of a diverse campus of healthcare facilities, including a hospital, multiple clinics and medical office buildings in Temple, TX.
This hands-on position requires comprehensive maintenance, upkeep, and repair of small to medium-sized buildings, building systems, and equipment. Initially, you will work a first-shift schedule (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday-Friday) for training, transitioning to a dedicated first shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Wednesday-Sunday). Your efforts will directly support the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of critical infrastructure essential to healthcare delivery.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain facilities across the large healthcare campus that includes a hospital and multiple small clinics/Medical Office Buildings.
• Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on a wide range of building systems, including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing.
• Conduct routine maintenance inspections to diagnose potential problems and execute timely repairs, ensuring adherence to building codes and safety regulations.
• Complete assigned work orders efficiently and accurately, utilizing available systems for tracking and documentation.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance tickets and critical system failures.
• Execute general plumbing maintenance tasks such as unclogging drains, changing valves, replacing faucets, and repairing leaks.
• Perform HVAC maintenance, including replacing belts and adjusting temperatures in patient rooms.
• Conduct building upkeep, including changing light fixtures, patching and painting, and replacing ceiling tiles.
• Address general electrical maintenance issues, including resetting breakers and troubleshooting electrical systems.
• Assist with the installation and modification of building equipment and systems as needed.
• Support energy management initiatives by ensuring all building systems operate efficiently.
• Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems. Exchange straightforward information in a clear, concise manner.
• Impact team through defined duties, methods and tasks as described in detail.
• Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.

What You’ll Need:

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 1-2 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
• Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
• Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
• Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
