Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Box Plant in CITY, STATE. The role involves diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and performing preventive maintenance with a team in a production environment.

The candidate will join a multi-craft team, receive training to upgrade skills, and work across 3 shifts with opportunities to transfer between shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery.
• A Technical Degree in the Mechanical or Electrical Trades is a plus.
• Shifts: 3 shifts; Swing Shift 3pm-11pm; rotation of shifts based on plant needs and seniority.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, rebuild, or replace mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on plant equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance as part of a team to minimize downtime.
• Support during breakdowns and respond to production needs in a timely manner.

Pay Range = $31.53-$42.11 based on mechanical and electrical skills and experience.

PCA provides paid training to help technicians advance through the skill levels and achieve higher pay.

Technicians supply their own basic hand tools. PCA provides a tool stipend (or replacement) to help technicians maintain basic hand tools. PCA provides all special and heavy tools.

Responsibilities

This position is based at the PCA Box Plant located in (CITY, STATE).

This position will perform a variety of maintenance tasks including diagnosing, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and Pneumatic systems on plant equipment.

Technicians work as part of a team to safely perform Preventive Maintenance Activities as well as answer break down calls in a Production Environment.

All Maintenance Technician positions are multicraft and training is provided to develop these skills.

Basic Qualifications

2+ Years’ experience in successfully troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery.

A Technical Degree in the Mechanical or Electrical Trades is a plus.

The production schedule is 3 shifts. Maintenance Technicians are placed on shifts according to plant needs and seniority. Opportunities to change shifts are available when organization changes occur or production schedules change. Current opening on Swing Shift 3pm-11pm

Be Authorized to work in the US.

Experience in the Corrugated Packaging or Printing Industry is a plus.
