Brief Description of Work:
Under the direction of the Skyway Maintenance Supervisor, the Skyway Technician performs daily inspections, testing, diagnostic analysis and maintenance of the Skyway vehicles.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate of Arts/Sciences degree in digital electronic technology, or in a closely related field, from an accredited college or university; or technical training in a digital electronic technology or a closely related field.
Possess HVAC 608 certification.
Two (2) years of hands-on experience troubleshooting/repairing electronic and mechanical systems.
Must have a valid Florida Driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
An advanced degree.
Prior or current Skyway Technician Experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
The Skyway Technician must be willing to work nights, holidays, weekends, and any hours assigned. This position works in open bays, inside buses, and outside in varying weather conditions. The position may require exposure to fumes and vapors and the use/handling of commercial cleaners and toxic materials. Physical demands include: lifting at least 50 lbs.; repetitively bending, kneeling, squatting, stooping, and twisting safely; and sitting for extended periods of time.
