Job summary

Hornig Companies in Minneapolis seeks a full-time Multi-site Maintenance Technician to service multiple properties in SW Minneapolis and surrounding areas. You will diagnose and repair apartment maintenance issues, focusing on plumbing, electrical, and general building upkeep, while delivering friendly resident service.

Qualifications

• Mechanical and plumbing aptitude required.
• Boiler license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently.
• Valid Driver’s License and meet car insurance requirements.
• Ability to work rotating on-call schedule.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair apartment maintenance issues (plumbing, electrical, building repair).
• Repair leaking fixtures, toilets, lighting, and windows/locks.
• Perform minor sheetrock repair and caulking; appliance repair where needed.
• Provide building repair expertise to prevent future concerns in aging buildings.
• Communicate with residents in a caring, respectful manner per company standards and Fair Housing guidelines.

Hornig Companies seeks a full-time Multi-site Maintenance Technician to respond to work orders at a multi-site environment in SW Minneapolis and the surrounding areas.

What would my responsibilities include?

Diagnose, trouble-shoot and hands on repair of apartment maintenance issues like:

• Plumbing issues such as leaking faucets, toilets and other fixtures
• Low risk electrical repair or replacement of lighting, ceiling fans, smoke detectors
• Minor sheetrock repair and repair of building construction such as broken windows and locks
• Minor caulking of tubs and sinks
• Minor appliance repair
• Provide expertise on building repair, concentrating on preventing future maintenance concerns in historical and aging buildings
• Communicate with residents regarding repairs in a caring, compassionate manner that upholds Hornig Companies customer service reputation as well as Fair Housing guidelines

What should I bring to the team?

• Mechanical & plumbing aptitude
• Specials Boiler’s License/ ability to obtain within 6 months
• Ability and willingness to learn
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
• Valid Driver’s License and meet car insurance requirements
• Ability to work rotating on-call schedule
• Ability to stand, lift and bend for up to 8 hours (with breaks) in hot/cold and wet environments
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Ability to operate applicable phone applications for work orders, time allocation and information look-up
• Multi-housing experience is a plus!
