Job summary

Bolder Industries, Inc. in Terre Haute, IN is seeking an experienced industrial maintenance technician to uphold the reliability of pyrolysis reactors, conveyors, pumps, and rotating equipment.

You will diagnose electrical controls, maintain mechanical systems, monitor process parameters, and collaborate with operations to optimize rCB yields. This role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and cross-training across the full production process.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
  • 2+ years in industrial maintenance in manufacturing, chemical processing, or recycling.
  • Essential: Building/plumbing/electrical repairs; 480V wiring; Mig/Arc welding; fabrication.
  • Preferred: Controls troubleshooting experience.
  • Strong grasp of schematics, blueprints, hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
  • Effective communication, teamwork, and ability to work independently with safety.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on pyrolysis reactors, conveyors, pumps, and rotating equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical controls (PLC systems, sensors, wiring) in high-temperature, high-pressure settings.
  • Maintain mechanical components and fluid systems; manage effects of pressure on flows.
  • Monitor process parameters with operations teams; troubleshoot to optimize yields.
  • Perform millwrighting tasks: alignment, fabrication, installation on lines.
  • Document activities, manage parts inventory, support continuous improvements.
  • Ensure safety and environmental compliance; handle byproducts like tire-derived oil.
  • Cross-train across the entire production process.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Description
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on pyrolysis reactors, conveyors, pumps, and rotating equipment to minimize downtime and ensure efficient rCB production.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical controls (PLC systems, sensors, wiring) in high-temperature, high-pressure settings.
  • Maintain mechanical components (bearings, gears, fluid systems), applying knowledge of pressure effects on fluid flows in pumping during gas condensation and oil recovery.
  • Monitor process parameters (temperature, pressure, flow rates) with operations teams, troubleshooting to optimize syngas and rCB yields.
  • Perform millwrighting tasks like alignment, fabrication, and installation in tire processing and finishing lines.
  • Document activities, manage parts inventory, and support continuous improvements via teamwork and communication.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards, handling byproducts like tire-derived oil.
  • Cross-training across the entire production process

Location & Schedule
  • On-site at our Terre Haute, Indiana facility (remote work is not available for this role)
  • Full-time: 12 hour shift - 7:00 pm to 7:00 am
Working Conditions

This role operates within an active chemical recycling plant that includes exposure to carbon black, liquid hydrocarbon oils, and vapor streams. Protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators) will be required in designated areas. The facility includes indoor and outdoor operations, elevated equipment access, and industrial-grade processing equipment
