Job summary

Americare Senior Living is seeking a Maintenance Team Member for our Shelbyville, TN assisted living community. This part-time role supports resident comfort by maintaining buildings, grounds, and essential systems, while performing routine upkeep and safety checks.

You’ll work 1st shift, earn $17.50–$18 per hour, and join a team committed to a supportive, family-like culture with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of building maintenance, equipment operation, and safety practices.
• Ability to work independently and follow maintenance schedules and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain buildings and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Perform routine and minor maintenance including painting, plumbing, electrical, wiring, and general repairs.
• Maintain furnaces, air conditioners, boilers, and water systems to ensure resident comfort.
• Replace air‑conditioner filters and complete monthly maintenance checklists.
• Assist with disaster preparedness, including fire drills and emergency readiness activities.
• Notify management of major repair needs involving lighting, HVAC, plumbing, or building systems.
• Remove snow, ice, debris, and hazards from sidewalks and grounds; oversee landscaping services and assist with lawn care, trimming shrubs, and flower maintenance as needed.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and appropriately.
