Sheridan Community Hospital is seeking a dependable Maintenance Technician/Security Officer to maintain a safe, well-functioning environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

The role combines hands-on maintenance with security oversight in a rural Critical Access Hospital setting, ensuring reliable operations and safety across hospital facilities and clinics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid Michigan driver's license is required.
• Healthcare maintenance experience is preferred (5+ years).
• Security experience is preferred (2+ years).
• Certifications are a plus but not required.
• Ability to lift 50–100 lbs., stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful, patient-centered environment.

Responsabilités

• Perform general maintenance and repairs, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, equipment, and facility systems.
• Complete work orders and preventative maintenance throughout the hospital and hospital-owned clinics.
• Assist with fire drills, life-safety inspections, and emergency systems.
• Maintain grounds, including landscape and snow removal.
• Patrol hospital buildings and grounds to help prevent theft, vandalism, fire, and unauthorized entry.
• Respond appropriately to security concerns and assist with unruly visitors or patients.
• Escort staff to and from parking areas or buildings as needed.
• Provide assistance and directions to patients and visitors.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:00 PM, with rotating on-call coverage every 3 weeks
