Job summary

Lamsco West, Inc. is looking for a Maintenance Technician based in Santa Clarita, California. The role involves sustaining and optimizing manufacturing processes and equipment while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Ideal candidates will have over 5 years of experience in CNC machining and a background as a CNC Maintenance Technician. You will troubleshoot machinery, ensure operational efficiency, and contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience working in CNC machining, water jet machining and sheet metal facilities.
• 3+ years of experience as a CNC Maintenance Technician.
• Ability to troubleshoot machinery using electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Knowledge of aerospace materials.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for troubleshooting issues with production and making appropriate repairs.
• Ensures that existing equipment operates in optimal conditions through maintenance.
• Delivers process improvement and cost-saving through improved tools and equipment modifications.
• Works with Product Engineering, Quality, Operations and Supply Chain on product transfer.
• Must be flexible to stay late or modify work hours if production deadlines.

Job description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the sustainment, optimization and implementation of manufacturing processes, equipment, facilities, tools and fixtures. Drives continuous improvement in all manufacturing equipment, tooling, and processes in accordance with all regulatory, industry, customer, and company requirements.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for troubleshooting issues with production including CNC, waterjets, shears, punch presses, ovens, plus auxiliary equipment and making appropriate repairs.
• Ensures that existing equipment and facility operate in optimal conditions through preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Responsible to deliver process improvement and cost saving through improved tools, fixtures, equipment modification and improvements, equipment acquisitions, semi-automation of manual processes, etc.
• Works with Product Engineering, Quality, Operations and Supply Chain to aid transfer of new and existing products into Production and between facilities.
• Must be flexible to stay late or modify work hours, on short notice, if production deadlines.

Requirements:

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be:

• 5+ years of experience working in CNC machining, water jet machining and sheet metal facilities.
• Requires 3+ years’ experience as a CNC Maintenance Technician.
• Ability to troubleshoot machinery using electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Knowledge of aerospace materials.
• Experience with LEAN Manufacturing principles.
• Experience executing several projects simultaneously.
• Superb verbal interpersonal and communication skills.
