Job summary

Cornerstone Residential is seeking a Maintenance Technician to preserve and upgrade our residential spaces across multiple properties. You will respond to service requests, repair appliances and systems, and perform routine maintenance to keep units comfortable and safe.

This full-time, hourly role offers day shifts, on-call duties, and potential bonuses. A high school diploma or GED, HVAC and pool certifications, and a valid driver’s license are required, with healthcare and retirement benefits

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum two years’ residential maintenance experience.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and energy management systems.
• Certifications/licenses as required by local/state regulations.
• Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to pass background and drug screen.
• HVAC Certification and Pool Certification are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to resident/management service requests for occupied and vacant rental units.
• Repair/replace appliances, plumbing, and HVAC/electrical systems as needed.
• Repair/replace apartment materials and perform maintenance requests.
• Identify and perform routine preventative maintenance assignments.
• Inspect and repair vacant units and prepare for move-ins.
• Work on-call as scheduled, weekends and overtime as necessary.
• Perform tasks and operate machinery in a safe manner per procedures.
• Complete grounds work, such as grounds cleanup and light landscaping.
• Perform other duties to support property operations.

JOB SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing maintenance and other duties to assure the preservation and upkeep of the building, fixtures, and residential spaces.

CLASSIFICATION:

Full-time, Hourly/Non-Exempt

SHIFT:

Monday- Friday, 7 am- 4pm; Weekends On-Call As needed

COMPENSATION:

$27 - $29 per hour (eligible for commissions and bonuses)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Respond to resident/management service requests for occupied and vacant rental units.


2. Repair/replace appliances, plumbing, and air conditioning/heating/electrical systems as needed.


3. Repair/replace apartment materials and perform maintenance requests.


4. Identify and perform routine preventative maintenance assignments.


5. Inspect and repair vacant units and prepare for move-ins.


6. Work on-call as scheduled 24/7, weekend shifts, and overtime as necessary and pre-approved by the Maintenance Supervisor or Property Manager.


7. Perform tasks and operate machinery in a safe manner and in compliance with safety procedures.


8. Complete grounds work, such as grounds pick up, sweeping, and light landscaping.


9. Perform other duties as requested to support property operations.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Required

• High school diploma or GED.


• Minimum two years’ general residential maintenance experience.


• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, and energy management systems.


• Certifications/licenses as required by local, state, or other regulations.


• Must have reliable transportation, maintain auto insurance, and have a valid driver’s license.


• Strong communication and customer service skills.


• Ability to work on-call as scheduled and work weekends and after hours as necessary.


• Must be able to pass background and drug screen.


• HVAC Certification
