  • Performs daily walk-throughs of RCCC buildings and weekly walk-throughs of assigned RCCC properties using Company checklists.
  • Ensures assigned RCCC buildings and facilities are operational and ready for business, including the Lodge, General Store, Golf Shop, Fitness Center, pool areas, and other assigned facilities.
  • Identifies, documents, troubleshoots, and repairs maintenance issues, including lighting, smoke detector testing, battery replacement, paint touch-ups, and general facility deficiencies.
  • Monitors, tests, documents, and maintains pools, spas, hot tubs, children’s pools, and related water features in accordance with Company procedures, manufacturer instructions, Montana public health requirements, and applicable pool/spa codes and standards.

Position: Maintenance Technician - Residential
Reports To: Director of Facilities
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

The Maintenance Technician supports the repair, maintenance, and safe operation of Rock Creek Cattle Company properties, including mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, structural, pool/spa, and general facility systems. This position performs routine inspections, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and guest-readiness support while maintaining timely communication with management regarding progress, safety concerns, deficiencies, and operational needs.

This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed. Duties may be modified based on business needs, seasonal demands, and operational priorities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Performs daily walk-throughs of RCCC buildings and weekly walk-throughs of assigned RCCC properties using Company checklists.
  • Ensures assigned RCCC buildings and facilities are operational and ready for business, including the Lodge, General Store, Golf Shop, Fitness Center, pool areas, and other assigned facilities.
  • Identifies, documents, troubleshoots, and repairs maintenance issues, including lighting, smoke detector testing, battery replacement, paint touch-ups, and general facility deficiencies.
  • Supports seasonal guest-readiness of cabins by identifying and addressing deficiencies related to HVAC, television, phone connectivity, internet connectivity, plumbing, running water, and general maintenance needs.
  • Monitors, tests, documents, and maintains pools, spas, hot tubs, children’s pools, and related water features in accordance with Company procedures, manufacturer instructions, Montana public health requirements, and applicable pool/spa codes and standards.
  • Promptly reports all guest, member, employee, personal, property, safety, injury, accident, near-miss, or high-risk concerns to management in accordance with Company policy.
  • Follows Company standards and protocols when performing work in private residences or member/guest areas.
  • Follows all applicable Company policies and procedures, including but not limited to attendance, dress code, safety, conduct, timekeeping, and handbook requirements.
  • Stays informed of course events, large parties, reservations, and property activities that may impact maintenance operations.
  • Attends mandatory staff meetings, trainings, and safety meetings.
  • Follows all applicable safety procedures, including PPE, hazard communication, chemical handling, ladder safety, electrical safety, equipment safety, and incident-reporting procedures.
  • Accurately records all hours worked, including clocking in and out as required. Promptly reports missed punches or timekeeping discrepancies to management.
  • Complies with Company meal and rest period policies and accurately records all time worked; promptly notifies management if work demands interfere with scheduled breaks.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical systems, and general facility maintenance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and complete routine repairs safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to work long, varied, and sometimes irregular hours, including overtime, split shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, and seasonal schedules.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and ability to interact professionally with employees, members, guests, vendors, and management.
  • Ability to represent the Company in a positive, professional, and service-oriented manner.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information appropriately and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, adapt to changing needs, and respond to unforeseen maintenance issues.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, identify problems, gather information, and involve appropriate personnel in decision-making.

  • Valid driver’s license required.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Six months of related maintenance experience or training preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Certified Pool Operator certification preferred, or ability to obtain certification within a Company-designated timeframe, if required for assigned duties.
Driving Requirement

A valid driver’s license is required. Employees who drive on Company business must maintain an acceptable driving record, comply with Company vehicle and safety policies, and be eligible to operate Company vehicles or equipment when assigned.

Background Check Requirement

Due to the nature of this position, including routine access to guest rooms, member homes, lodging units, private residences, secured areas, maintenance facilities, tools, equipment, vehicles, and Company property, employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check conducted in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local law.

The Company will obtain any required written authorization before conducting a background check and will follow all applicable notice and adverse-action requirements if background check results may affect an employment decision. Work Environment

This position works in a fast-paced property maintenance environment with moderate to high noise levels. The employee may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, excessive heat or cold, fumes, airborne particles, pool/spa chemicals, cleaning products, mechanical equipment, electrical systems, plumbing systems, power tools, moving mechanical parts, ladders, rooftops, and other maintenance-related hazards.

The employee is expected to follow all applicable safety procedures, use required personal protective equipment, and promptly report unsafe conditions, incidents, injuries, near misses, or equipment concerns to management.
